Sports News

Over the last 2 years we have been working hard
to promote sport in and out of school.

We work very closely with Framingham Earl High

School, which is a specialist sports college, and

often make use of their sports facilities and staff

expertise.

We are part of the School Sports Co-ordinator

(SSCO) programme, and Debbie Conway attends

regualr meetings. While she is at home on

maternity leave, Mr Walker and Mrs Frederick

are undertaking the role.

Being part of the SSCO means that we can access

staff training on all issues relating to PE in school.

Ms Ivatt has completed her mini

bus drivers test. This means we can hire the

partnership mini bus at a very reasonable rate.

Not only does this enable us to take children to

sporting events, but we use it for other curriculum

visits too.

The most exciting news this year is the launch of

Poringland Primary School Sports Club.

We now have a committee, made up of parents

and meet regularly to plan ways to involve more

pupils in wide variety of physical activities.

Committee members have either run or helped

with several clubs, including Fast Feet, Cross

Country, Athletics, Netball and Dance.
